Contemporary Beach House in Quinta do Lago

Architecture and Interior Design | Residential | Quinta do Lago - Algarve - Portugal

An architectural and interior design project led by Cristina Jorge de Carvalho Studio has brought to life this magnificent villa in Quinta do Lago, Algarve. Characterized by a rectilinear and refined design language, the architectural and interior design project exudes contemporary elegance.

The estate's modernity is emphasized by the configuration of spaces that transcend traditional categorizations. The resulting areas are expansive, uncluttered, and understated, featuring a carefully curated selection of materials and textures that bestow elegance and timelessness upon the property.

Reflecting the tranquil ambiance and laid-back lifestyle of the Algarve, influenced by its proximity to the beach, sea, and mild temperatures, Cristina Jorge de Carvalho's interior design imbues the space with a minimalist and refined aesthetic. The clean lines and sophisticated decor contribute to an atmosphere of luxury, synonymous with Cristina Jorge de Carvalho's signature style, permeating every corner of this remarkable interior project.

The materials employed in the pavements, communal areas, and terraces predominantly consist of cement and stone, notably bateig blue. This same stone extends from the exterior to the interior, serving as a cladding for one of the volumes. To enhance this feature, an irregular module of repeated stone pieces was meticulously crafted, imbuing the surfaces with dynamic movement and texture.

The social spaces exude an air of expansiveness, characterized by their generous proportions and abundant natural light. This effect is further accentuated by a thoughtfully curated palette of neutral tones and materials, where black iron elements serve as striking contrasts in pivotal architectural elements such as the staircase, elevator, and fireplace.

In deliberate contrast to the austere allure of stone and iron—predominantly employed in communal areas—natural oak wood is introduced within the more private domains, bestowing upon the space an ambiance of unparalleled comfort. Counterbalancing the inherent gravitas of wood and cement adorning the floors and walls, luxurious Italian marble envelops the bathrooms, imparting a sense of opulence and refinement.
