Suspending the line between design and function
Founded in 2000, the Atelier Cristina Jorge de Carvalho –Architecture and Interior Design signs award-winning projects that include private residencies, hotels, and high-end stores, among others. Some of the international awards granted to the Atelier include the Best Architecture Single Residence Portugal for the Algarve House project and the award for Best Hotel Interior for Europe for the Hotel Altis Prime project.
Concurrently to the work developed by her studio, Cristina Jorge de Carvalho designs exclusive furniture pieces, embodying the refined luxury and clean lines characteristic of her projects. These pieces blur the line between design and functionality, elevating interiors with their exquisite craftsmanship and design.
Her work enjoys frequent recognition in esteemed international publications such as AD, Elle Decor, Nuevo Estilo, Marie Claire Maison, Belles Demeures, Metropolitan, and Vogue. Awards and Recognition
With a strong portfolio encompassing several national and international clients such as hotels, SPAs, model apartments, business offices, stores and private residences, Cristina Jorge de Carvalho has built a solid career, with international recognition from her peers, the industry and the press. The exceptional quality of her work was recognized with various of the World’s most prestigious design awards:
- Best Hotel Interior for Europe and Best Hotel Interior for Portugal by the European Hotel Awards with Altis Prime Hotel;
- International Design Awards, in the category of Conceptual Interior Design, with the project developed, but not implemented, by her atelier for the Champalimaud Foundation.
- Cristina Jorge de Carvalho receives an International Property Award for Best Architecture Single Residence Portugal for their project The Algarve House- inserted in a property with approx. 12,000m2 / total construction area of 700m2, this luxurious family house quickly became iconic of CJC's style. The International Property Awards are open to residential and commercial property professionals from around the globe, this award celebrates the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry.
