Summer House Comporta

Summer House Comporta

Architecture | Residential | Comporta – Portugal

The architecture and interior design project of this "Cabana" house in Comporta , just an hour's drive from Lisbon, embraces the traditional shape of the region's popular architecture while seamlessly integrating modern construction systems and the contemporary aesthetic characteristic of Cristina Jorge de Carvalho's work.

Featuring a thatched roof, raw concrete walls, and recycled wood, the design pays homage to the cottages of old while infusing them with contemporary updates.

Despite its nods to the past, the interior designer introduces spacious proportions, expansive windows, and blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a seamless connection between the two. The result is a contemporary, minimalist summer house where inside and outside are treated as one cohesive space, inviting inhabitants to embrace the natural beauty of their surroundings.
