The contemporary and minimalist architecture of the hotel interior space was asking for soul. Cristina Jorge de Carvalho Architecture and Interior Design Studio received the assignment to grant an adequate decoration project which would combine comfort, contemporary style, and exclusivity. The hotel experience had to be unique, and the interior designer developed a project full of soul and comfort.
The privileged location of Hotel Octant Douro, in Douro river, near the city of Oporto, Portugal, and an exceptional pre-existing architecture evoked the inspiration to Cristina Jorge de Carvalho.
The choice of a neutral palette combined with natural materials and textures connects the space with the natural surroundings of the Douro River and the building, itself, giving it personality. Contemporary selected pieces of furniture pulled together with classic and modern designs, confer an elegant and timeless composition, with Cristina Jorge de Carvalho’s signature.
